Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American journalist and photojournalist who has reported on wars and natural catastrophes for more than 45 years. Her focus is on the plight of those in these areas. Curry has covered wars around the globe, including Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th 1956 in Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter. She was well-known for her work as a reporter for the Today show which is a morning news program aired by the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry's reportage was notable by its coverage of human crises occurring in war-torn nations as well as natural disasters. Curry's father was a sailor in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Following World War II, her parents became acquainted when her father served in Japan. As a result of her father's time in the military and the frequent moves they made. Curry graduated from high school at Ashland Oregon. Curry graduated in 1978 with the degree of Bachelor's in Journalism of the University of Oregon. When she was 22, she was the station's only female reporter. She subsequently moved to the position of an anchor and reporter at KGW which was an NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregan. Four years later she moved into Los Angeles as a reporter for KCBS-TV. She was awarded 2 Emmy Awards during the six years that she worked for this station.
