Raisa was brought up by her parents in Los Angeles by both of her parents. Irlanda Almendarez and Italia Almendarez. Francia is the Italian word for France. Italia in Italian is Italy, and Irlanda means Ireland. Virginia Almendarez, her mother, is born of Mexican origin and Renan has Honduran roots. Renan changed his name to El Cucuy within a short time after Francia's arrival. He is a well-known DJ and radio show host. He is also a popular Latino DJ from Los Angeles. When she was in college she drew the interest and the attention of the modeling world. The model became a print- and national model. Her commercials featured firms like JCPenney and Walmart. Prior to being recognized as acting and modeling as well, she danced. Francia was first offered a movie role during the last year of secondary school. Raisa did not stop dancing even when she scored her first lead role. She continued to take regular classes for advanced dance. She took her classes in a Hollywood dancing studio. Francia Raisa grew up in Los Angeles and is bilingual and born and raised in the city of Mexican and Honduran heritage. Francia started her acting career in 2005 at the age of 17 and has created quite a buzz within Hollywood.
